Agreement mismatches occur in a number of environments: when closest-conjunct agreement takes number or gender features from a conjunct that do not match those of the coordination as a whole (or vice-versa), when predicate agreement takes number or gender features that match semantically but not syntactically (e.g. This committee are friendly), and when mismatches between [colloquial] features on pronouns and agreement. We will look at the state of the art in terms of theoretical models, crosslinguistic data, and experimental approaches (production, picture-matching, and ERP) to such phenomena.
