Another great syntax line-up this year, with the following confirmed teachers:

  • Alison Biggs (McMaster University) will teach two advanced courses
  • Irina Burukina (Eötvös Loránd University & HUN-REN Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics) will teach intro in Week 1
  • Lena Lohninger (University of Vienna) will teach an advanced course titled “What is a subject?” in Week 2
  • Tom Meadows (University of Geneva) will teach intro in Week 1 and an advanced course on the Williams Cycle in Week 2
  • Aida Talić (University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign)

Phono teachers in Brasov are John Harris (UCL), Pavel Iosad (U Edinburgh) and Arild Hestvik (U Delaware).

John will teach a class “The basics. Syllabic and metrical structure. Challenging the standard assumptions.” and another one “Experimental explorations. Evidence from the study of speaker-hearers”

Pavel’s classes are “Slavic phonology” and “Representations and contrast”.

Arild will teach two classes on EEG (Electroencephalography) and how it speaks to phonological (linguistic) theory.
